We know the semi-finalists of the Montpellier International Women's Open

Difficile de gagner son service vendredi sur le court central de l'ASCH. N.H.

L'Open international féminin de Montpellier touche au but avec ce samedi, 11h, les demi-finales opposant Selekhmeteva à Teichmann et Chwalinska à Saito.

The quarter-finals of the International Open played out suspense on the center court. More than three hours of match for the one who would start the day, between Marie Benoit and Oksana Selekhmeteva. So much for the mano-à-mano between Saito and Serban. The third quarter-final will finally be shifted to court n°2… to be sure not to end up at night ? The Swiss, Jil Teichmann will find the solution well before, eliminating in two sets the Spanish number 5 seed, Parizas Diaz, 6/3, 7/5.
No one is safe from a surprise under the singing pines of the ASCH. On the Grabels courts, the top seeds don't have it easy.
Marie Benoit had demonstrated this the day before by eliminating the Latvian Darja Semenistaja (108th in the WTA ranking), seed number 1 (6/3, 6/2). The Belgian did not succeed to continue this Friday afternoon under a blazing sun.

Break and break on center court

Running after the score and especially, after the two-handed backhands of the Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva. It is true that her opponent is not making her first attempt at Grabels, winner here in 2022. Dominated in the first set, 3/6, the Belgian got back on the same mark, but struggled with his service game, broken at 2/1. She came back again at 2/2 before giving in on her commitment at 6-5, throwing her racket to the ground, beaten 7/5.
The next part was going to be of the same ilk, with a lot of mistakes from Saito against Serban, but the last word. At one set everywhere, the Japanese (n°6) seemed to tighten the game, 2/1 service to follow, but from break to break, two in this set, prolonged the debate, ending up having the last word ;a third service taken from his opponent (6/4).
This Saturday she will face the Polish Maja Chwalinska, more expeditious, on court n°1 against Mikulskyte, 6/2, 6/4. And meanwhile, the doubles also went into overtime, a set everywhere, 10-8 for Drazic Shymanovich. A real long day!
