Weather alert: Gard and Hérault on orange alert for “storms and rain-flooding”, what to expect in the next few hours ?

Hérault and Gard on orange alert for rain, flooding and storms. Heavy rainfall is expected in these departments this afternoon.
According to the latest bulletin published at 10am this Sunday morning by Météo France “the plains between Montpellier and Nîmes seem the most exposed, but the risk is not excluded elsewhere in the departments concerned”.
80 to 120mm of rain in a few hours
Meteorologists are suggesting that “rain intensities could be high and the cells could locally take on a relatively unstable character, particularly in the east of Hérault and in Gard”.

The episode should begin around midday on the heights of the Cévennes and Languedoc before spreading to the plains in the afternoon. 80 to 120 mm of rain are expected locally within 2 to 3 hours of precipitation. The chronology and exact location of the most important phenomena must be refined in the coming hours.
