Météo France has activated its orange alert in five departments, for two reasons, this Wednesday, October 16, 2024. There has already been a lot of rain (up to 100 mm) last night in Lozère, where TER traffic has been cut between Alès and Langogne.
The City of Millau has taken the decision, "due to the forecast weather conditions", to close access to the Saoutadou footbridge spanning the Tarn. This closure will be effective this Wednesday, October 16 from 3 p.m. This is, of course, "to ensure the safety of users."

A consequence of the weather alerts, orange and yellow, launched by Météo France in several departments in the region for today. The latest bulletin lists five departments in the orange alert range. Two are in Occitanie and nearby: Gard and Lozère.
In this department, a cumulative total of 100 mm of rain has already fallen during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. And the circulation of TER trains is now interrupted between Alès and Langogne.
