Météo France a publié ce vendredi 28 juin ses prévisions pour juillet, août et septembre. Les tendances indiquent des températures susceptibles d’être supérieures aux moyennes de saison et des conditions sèches, particulièrement dans le sud de la France.

Heat and less precipitation than the norm: this is basically the scenario favored by Météo France for the country in the next three months.

A summer hotter than normal

According to the latest quarterly forecast bulletin published by the weather service for July, August and September, conditions this summer will be "warmer than normal, especially in the south of the country.

According to these probabilities, the public establishment in charge of meteorological monitoring indicates that there is a 50% chance that it will be hotter than normal for the season (70% for the south of France), compared to a 30% chance of a summer consistent with seasonal norms, which have recently evolved.

Instability in places

Regarding precipitation it is slightly more likely that the south of the country will be drier than normal, while no trend is favored in the north of France. However, this scenario does not exclude"punctual episodes with rainfall that can be locally significant".

Météo France recalls that underlines however that "confidence is limited, in particular because of the end of the El Niño phenomenon in the tropical Pacific" .

Forecasters also insist on the fact that these data are not intended to "provide information on the expected weather in France as or such day", but rather to "to identify probabilistic trends on the scale of Europe". To find out if the drought will return to France or if the rain will come to disrupt the holidays during the summer period, we will still have to wait to more precise data.
