Wednesday: season 2 confirmed by Netflix, the 5 theories we really wants to see it come true in the sequel

By Aubéry Mallet Journalist Series, cinema, TV Aubéry Mallet is a journalist specializing in series. A fan of the small screen, she has seen everything (or almost) from Game of Thrones to Pretty Little Liars, from The Bridgerton Chronicle to Stranger Things via Gossip Girl or Friends. After weeks of vagueness, it's official: Wednesday (Wednesday in the original version) will have a season 2 on Netflix! The platform announced the good news this Friday, January 6, 2023. And that's good because we already have a lot of ideas for the future. Here are the 5 theories we really want to see come true in the sequel to the series with Jenna Ortega.

More than a month after its release, Wednesday continues its crazy adventure on Netflix. Arriving on the platform on November 23, the series inspired by the universe of The Addams Familywas a huge hit and became the second most-watched English-language series in the history of the platform with more than 1.2 billion hours of viewing in 28 days (only season 4 of Stranger Things< /em> did better with 1.3 billion hours of viewing). Suffice to say that the renewal was only a formality, even if some rumors have cast doubt on the return of the series on Netflix.

And a season 2 for < em>Wednesday

This time for sure, Wednesday will have a season 2on the platform! The news was confirmed this Friday, January 6, 2023. A half-surprise given the crazy success of the show worn by Jenna Ortega. Especially since the creators had already explained that they were thinking of new episodes and that the door was left wide open for a sequel at the end of season 1.

Our theories on sequel

Since season 2 ofWednesdayis finally official, we have some ideas to give to the writers. Here are our 5 theories on the sequel (fingers crossed that they come true).

Warning, the rest of this article contains spoilers.

1. Tyler will get nice (and a nice will get mean)

In the Wednesday finale, we discovered the true identity of the not at all creepy monster: it is in fact the nice Tyler (Hunter Doohan) who was hiding behind the big bad guy. Even though he was arrested by the police, one of the last scenes hinted that he was going to escape. And precisely, we think that season 2 could bring us a twist: we can see Tyler becoming an ally of Wednesday. And to really reverse the dynamic of season 1, Xavier (Percy Hynes White) could become the enemy

2. Erin and Wednesday are going to be a couple

In Season 1, there was a love triangle between Tyler, Xavier, and Wednesday, something Jenna Ortega didn't like at all. But fans also have another wish: to see a love story between Enid (Emma Myers) and Wednesday. Something not so impossible because the creators have explained that they are thinking about this possibility for the rest of the series. Fingers crossed!

3. We're going to discover the Addams house

What would the Addams family be without their famous house? In the series, we have not really been able to see the life of the family, and we hope that will change in the sequel. If season 2 of Wednesdayshould logically take place in Nevermore, we can see the sequel starting at the Addams mansion and, why not, being entitled to more family scenes, as promised by the two creators of the show, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

4 . This character is Wednesday's stalker

At the end of season 1, Wednesday received strange messages implying that she had a stalker who wants to harm her. And the web thinks they have already discovered his identity and he is a student of Nevermore, more specifically Yoko Tanaka. She's one of the most-seen secondary characters in Season 1, which leads us to believe she might have a bigger role in the sequel.

5. The new enemy already unveiled

What if we already knew Wednesday's new enemy? In season 1, we were able to discover a little more about Bianca (Joy Sunday) and her family, in particular the fact that her mother, who is a mermaid, is part of a kind of sect. And precisely, we think that Morning Sun, the sect in question, could have a more important role in the sequel. With Bianca's mother's mermaid powers, could it be that the evil company is causing Wednesday a lot of trouble?

To have the answers to all our questions, we will have to wait since the season 2 of Wednesday won't be coming to Netflix right away.
