Rendez-vous est donné dans l’après-midi du samedi 12 octobre, à l’espace Cazot. Mais ce n’est pas tout…

Of course, the City, the Warriors, the Amazons and other structures are mobilizing in Alès for Pink October, this month dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. But the local delegation of the League against cancer is also getting involved. “We do lots of things”, smiles Élisabeth Voutier, the head of the League in the capital of the Cévennes, surrounded by a few members who are Agnès Favède, Coralie Gay, Annie Vidal-Paletti and Solange Arend. So, they will be present this Saturday, September 28, from 3 p.m., on the Place des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance, to host an information stand on the occasion of the “Run des Guerrières”.

The program for the afternoon of October 12

But the “big event” of these Alésiennes will take place on Saturday, October 12, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Espace Cazot. Similar to what was organized last year. "It will be a recreational and musical afternoon, with only French songs", explains the head of the Alès delegation. The Bremo Mélodie and the Grand chœur alésien will perform, then the duo Pascal and Océlie, and the Trio Jo&Co. Not forgetting "an intermission with snack" and a raffle set up with the entry tickets (*). "We are thus making the association known", declares Élisabeth Voutier. "We fulfill our missions by providing information and prevention", continues Coralie Gay. Missions structured around four themes: research, assistance to patients and caregivers, prevention and screening, and, finally, society and health policy. “This, knowing that the League lives thanks to donations”, emphasize the others. Moreover, all profits will go to the association.

Other actions are also planned

At the same time, throughout Pink October, the Alésiennes will host "bust workshops" to teach breast self-palpation. Around ten days are planned: in pharmacies, companies, beauty salons, beauty schools, etc. They will also be present at the "Run" des Amazones, on October 6, in Saint-Jean-du-Pin, and at the one organized on October 13, in Saint-Christol-lez-Alès. "In addition, we will make small pink bows", concludes Coralie Gay. "We will give them to people in exchange for a donation…"
