The 13th Alès Graft Exchange, supported by the City and the Pomology Center, will be held this Saturday, February 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this day, on the sidelines of the forum of associative actors, visitors can enjoy a series of activities, orchestrated by specialists.

Pruning a young olive tree and grafting technique

From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., there will be a “size training workshop for a young olive tree”, by Sylvie Dupard. At the same time, Jacky Brard will host another on the “methodology and operation of the transplant”. From 11 a.m. to noon, the “citrus pruning” will be discussed, in the presence of Patrick Maurin.

Pruning fruit trees and creating a whitewash

After the lunch break, the workshops will resume with the second meeting of Jacky Brard, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., devoted, this time, to “pruning apple trees in espalier”. At the same time, Fabienne Garcia will introduce the public to how to make a clay-based wash. Finally, the last workshop of the day is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., to allow you to learn everything, again with Sylvie Dupard, about the “size of open-air fruit trees”.

Discover the Terrasses du Bosquet

During this event, everyone will also have the opportunity to discover the Terrasses du Bosquet, that is to say the ethnobotanical and acclimatization garden, created in 2020 and which is located behind Fort Vauban. Two visits are scheduled: from 11 a.m. to noon and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., during a visit orchestrated first by Sophie Bernard, then by Sabine Rauzier, who is the director of the Pomology Center.
