British insurance company drew attention to the fact that air passengers have round the clock access to alcohol in shops and bars, airports, and this causes problems. The situation is aggravated by the medication to avoid fear of flying. But in combination with alcohol the effect of the pills is explosive.
In order to understand the extent of the problem, the experts interviewed 100 flight attendants last year, and then repeated the survey recently. The results were shocking: drunken passengers (and also those that are under the influence of drugs) were more likely to attack flight attendants. If during the last survey, 28% reported physical aggression, now this figure reached 38%. However, slightly decreased the amount of attempts of sexual violence: from 8% to 7%.
But it is outrageous, emphasizes the head of research Tom Bishop (Tom Bishop). In carrying out its work, the crew members are “trapped” and forced to endure inappropriate behavior of passengers. Even if they do not resort to violence, they are not particularly courteous: 46 percent of flight attendants said that faced with rudeness.
The experts also interviewed 2,000 passengers, to understand how they get rid of my fear of flying. The share of antidepressants accounted for 24% of the drugs, and 21% for sleeping pills. With his party 68% of workers on Board said that over the past year the number of “treated” in this way has increased (33 percent called the increase “significant”). Also, 54% of flight attendants had to communicate with drunken passengers who bought alcohol before boarding the flight.
The insurance company just a reminder of what to mix alcohol with drugs is impossible, and please behave respectfully towards the people working on Board. And fear of flying can effectively remove cute animals.
