No greater happiness for Ludovic Jamme than putting his tennis shoes back on every year to participate in “La Courstache” in Montpellier. “It's a real party in Montpellier, and it's a great way for New Montpellier residents to discover this city, and for us, to rediscover its emblematic places each time. So, if you haven't registered yet, do so. Especially since you can participate simply by walking. There's no obligation to run“, comments the forty-year-old, an executive at Altemed.

Ludovic Jamme was not always crazy about running. His favorite sport was sailing, but after the birth of his children, going away for half a day became difficult. Coached by his neighbor, Fabrizio Flacco, Ludovic Jamme joins him every Sunday to run with him. This is how running gradually insinuated itself into his life until it never left him.

“It's hard to stick with it at first, but little by little, running has become a philosophy of life for me. Then, the advantage with this sport is that you only need a pair of shoes and you can do it whenever you want and almost anywhere. No other sport offers as much freedom“, he lists. So, in addition, when you run for a good cause, the feeling provided by endorphin, this neurotransmitter of pleasure, is increased tenfold.

Running for a good cause

So whether it's for the “20 km of Montpellier”, this historic race organized by the Lions Club Montpellier Languedoc for the benefit of athletes and children with disabilities, that of Pink October in favor of the fight against breast cancer or even “La Courstache” for the fight against so-called male cancers, Ludovic Jamme runs for a good cause. And, the cherry on the cake, “all these races allow you to meet great people“, he adds.

Before admitting to having a little weakness for “La Courstache”, for its “festive side and because everyone has a moustache. I let it grow every year on this occasion, much to the despair of my wife and children“, he jokes.

A race organized by women for men

Before adding: “What also touches me a lot is that it is a race organized by women for men. There is a really great spirit in this race, which is accessible to everyone, even if the course is demanding. But what I like most about this race is the moustache and the fact that it generates a lot of donations. It also offers the opportunity to talk about the Movember movement in the workplace“, he adds.

So Ludovic Jamme did not hesitate to preach the good word within his company to bring other employees along with him. If last year, no one followed him, this year, there will be about twenty with him running under the company's colors for a good cause. The moustaches have not finished growing.
