CatsMe !, une application japonaise intégrant l’IA prétend détecter les douleurs d’un chat, avec un taux de précision avoisinant les 95 %.
The company Carelogy and researchers from Nihon University, Japan, have created a new application renamed CatsMe!, which aims to ;identify pain in a cat and avoid unnecessary trips to the veterinarian, reports Skynews.
It is based on artificial intelligence (AI) with an algorithmic model that has learned to analyze the facial expressions of 6,000 felines. All you have to do is take a photo of your pet via the application to know its pain level with an accuracy rate close to 95%. Thus, green, yellow or red colored pellets appear depending on the feline's pain.
Useful for older cats
"Our statistics show that more than 70 % of older cats suffer from arthritis or pain, but only 2 % ;rsquo;among them are taken for treatment", explains Professor Kazuya Edamura, member of the research team, to the Reuters press agency.
Please note that this application is not intended to replace the veterinarian, but must be used as a tool that can encourage an owner to go to the specialist.
