In Sète, the malicious acts on the book box on rue du Pasteur Lucien-Benoît outrage the neighborhood.
The residents of rue du Pasteur Lucien-Benoît, also called “rue qui bouquine”, in Sète, are wondering who could possibly be attacking, repeatedly, at the book box installed on the way to school.
Neighborhood outrage
One (or more) individual(s) has (have) recently thrown the installation to the ground. This act follows a past deterioration, which had already aroused indignation in the neighborhood. "Qu& rsquo;what could possibly be going on in your head to persist, as you did a few weeks ago […]", exclaims, in a letter addressed to our editorial staff (and to the author), Janine Léger, committed community activist (and former opposition municipal councilor for fourteen years), also a local resident of the famous “rue qui bouquine”.
Free act
"Whether they are regular or occasional, young or old, borrowers or donors, its users did not understand why you had made a similar thing and made their indignation known. A good Samaritan picked her up. He repaired its loose hinges and adapted a new closing system, because the impact had disjointed the door."
An original and popular book box
This book box has the originality of being an old fridge, repainted by the Sétois graffiti artist Réka. It is regularly frequented by residents of the neighborhood. Books are exchanged there and the box is always provided. Janine Léger continues: "How sad the life of a street vandal must be to have nothing better to do, Saturday afternoon, than to come to a once again throw the heavy box full of books on the ground! Of course we put her back on her feet. Of course we reattached the door."
And the local resident left, despite everything, a small door open for the attention of the author…hellip; "You know what ? Don't come back. Unless you want to pick up a book."
