When hip-hop brings together locals and holidaymakers in the heart of the town of Agde

Une fois par semaine, en fin de journée, lorsque les températures estivales se sont adoucies, la troupe de Dimension 34 investit la place du jeu de ballon pour initier le public à la danse hip-hop.

“The goal is to run workshops for children who are not going on vacation, while creating a social bond with vacationers. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., we organize various activities to encourage exchanges and meetings,” explains Driss Targhaoui, president and artistic director of the Dimension 34 center.

A dance competition in the heart of the city

During each event, children become, for the duration of an evening, real little artists. The program includes hip-hop dance workshops (standing dance) and Breaking (dance on the floor), double dutch sessions, an activity that combines skipping rope and hip-hop dance, as well as a graph workshop where everyone can express themselves freely.

With this aim of fostering links, Driss Targhaoui also organises a competition, the Battle Laissez-moi danser, where "locals and holidaymakers form teams, challenge each other, and thus all become actors in the event", says the artistic director.

For Lindsay Hamada, 2023 French Breaking champion in the under-16 category, "sharing these moments and introducing our discipline is a real pleasure. We exchange and have a good time together".
