Caroline Tillie-Cauchard, auctioneer in Montpellier, held an office in Sète, Saturday April 13, to value visitors' goods.
"Too bad. I'm going to offer them to the TV show (Deal concluded on France 2, Editor's note). There are objects that go for a lot of euros . And what's more, there are no financial rights on it". A little disappointed, this visitor at the end of the morning of this Saturday, April 13, to the premises of the real estate agency Les Demeures du Sud in the Corniche district of Sète. Caroline Tillie-Cauchard, auctioneer in Montpellier, has just explained to her that she would not get much out of the set of plates that she has just taken out of her bag .
Pictures by listed artists
La Montpellier held its first free property valuation session on a singular island. And she was served. Caroline Tillie-Cauchard focused in particular on paintings, , some of which were by listed artists, sculptures, ceramics, a photo album from Morocco in 1935 but also and above all jewelry of all types (necklace, bracelet…) in gold. Some of them "m’have also been entrusted for a future sale. I signed a mandate with the owners , she explains. "In this case, we agree on a minimum price and then we leave the auction game".
The price of gold has increased
"With the recent sharp rise in the price of gold, people can part with their jewelry more easily" ;, confides the specialist, delighted with the welcome the Sétois gave her. "But they can also come to Montpellier for this kind of expertise", she said, smiling. In any case, the auctioneer will surely return to the Singular Island. For a new session for sure. But also and above all to visit people who have come to show him their large objects in photographs and who fully deserve an in situ visit for a more detailed assessment. And why not sign a mandate for an upcoming presentation in an auction room ?
