The resumption of economic activities is well underway in Quebec, but some sectors continue to gnaw their brakes in anticipation of a re-opening safe.

Here is what is currently still closed or prohibited:

Cultural environment

  • Theatres and theatre
  • Cinemas and arcades
  • Access to the library shelves
  • The holding of large gatherings, indoor or outdoor, such as festivals

  • The shopping centres located in the metropolitan Community of Montreal (CMM) and the MRC of Joliette


  • Bars that do not hold a licence restoration
  • The dining rooms and indoor and outdoor bars and restaurants who hold a licence restoration will re-open from the 15 June in colder areas, and on 22 June in the metropolitan Community of Montreal (CMM), the MRC of Joliette and the city of The Epiphany, in Lanaudière
  • The cabarets erotic
  • Discos

Personal care

  • Spas
  • Saunas

Services body care located in the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) and the MRC of Joliette are still closed until the 15th of June.

These services include :

  • Hair Salons
  • Barber shops
  • Centres of aesthetic
  • Manicures and pedicures
  • Hair removal
  • Tattoo and piercing
  • Skin care
  • Personal care home

Sports and recreation

  • Individual sports and team play inside
  • Outdoors (leagues, recreational tournaments, events with ranking) could resume in the end of June (the drives are already enabled)
  • Fitness centres, private
  • The indoor pools
  • Arenas
  • The centres indoor soccer
  • The dance studios, boxing, martial arts, yoga, spinning, zumba, etc
  • The centers trampoline
  • The lounges of bowling
  • The bingo centres
  • All of the sporting events has been cancelled until 31 August

Public Services

  • The centres of claims Loto-Québec (price between 600 $ and 25 000 $)
  • The sale of lottery retailers located in shopping malls
  • The casinos of Quebec (Montreal, Lac-Leamy, Charlevoix and Mont-Tremblant)
  • The games rooms (Quebec and Three Rivers)
  • The conduct examinations of the practices of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ)
  • The hearings of the Régie du logement (except some exceptions)
  • The intelligence services in person to the Régie du logement


  • The border with the United States is closed until at least 21 June, except for a few limited cases of family reunification,
  • The prohibition of circulation in the waters for cruise ships is maintained until the 31 October
  • The amusement parks
  • Water parks
  • Zoos
  • Aquariums
  • Youth hostels (stays of 31 days or less)
  • The cottages (stays of 31 days or less)

Are still closed inside of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) and the MRC of Joliette:

  • Tourist residences, such as cottages and hostels
  • Institutions of primary residence (such as Airbnb)
  • Institutions on the territory of the Sépaq
  • Motels


  • Places of worship
  • All the religious gatherings of all faiths, unless they can be essential
