Winter, for the little ones, and the parents who will be able to wait in the warmth", rejoices the director of the rugby school Claude Theveny. The multipurpose room (which can be used by other clubs) of approximately 150 m2 will have cost 300,000 € (construction and development): 120,000 € were paid by the State, the Region contributed 80,000 € and the City invested 100,000 €.
A project led from A to Z by the town hall
The president, Christophe Liabeuf, recalled: "This is my 32nd season at the club"& nbsp;and he summarized its history, with an important novelty every ten or twenty years. A field in the 70s, a first refreshment bar in the 80s, the first bungalows in the 2000s, then stands, and finally 2024."Thank you to the town hall for leading the project from A to Z, and to all our partners and sponsors. Our 300 members will be happy to have premises." For two years, the club has got by with prefabricated premises (burgled twice recently ). "We felt in transition, says a volunteer. There, there is a large room, this opens up possibilities for workshops, courses, parties…"
A top-notch work tool
Jean-Yves Chapelet said he played at this stadium before even moving to Bagnols. Then, "I spent some wonderful hours here.Once you get rugby under your skin, you don't let it go, he shared with the public.During my first mandate, I said "we need a platform". Today, the club has a real club house. The project has been revised many times, thanks to discussions between the town hall services, the club and the architects. Here, 300 kids learn the values of rugby and it then follows us for life!"
Philippe Berthomieu recalled that it was the first rugby club in Gard, born in 1961: "This club has a soul. I shared a lot of joy at RCBM" recalled the man who was a physical trainer, coach, and president for fifteen years. The elected official offered a jersey to a player who embodies "courage, self-sacrifice, kindness…, Guilhem Gracia". Green lawn, stands, club house, now the RCBM has a working tool “at the top”, as summed up by Christian Roux who notes with delight that there is still “the same atmosphere and energy. We are waiting for the First team to improve! “.
As a preamble, the president of the RCBM had given Nina Erhmann, head of the local branch of the League against cancer, a check for 2154 €, the proceeds of the Marty Challenge. “When I saw you running around, it was so touching, it was beyond family. I didn't really know Marty. I'm sure he was super cool” thanked, moved, Nina Erhmann.

“The human investment is colossal”… permanent employment at the start of the school year
The RCBM has a total of 300 graduates (rugby school, senior team and touch team, read below) and five employees ;eacute;s including four alternating. This year, the school made the largest increase in graduates in Gard thanks to à 'the World Cup effect is undeniable. And also thanks to the work put in by the team. by work-study students (BPJEPS) who, for several years, have been providing interventions in schools. The rugby school is at the top, with good results in all categories.
Next season, sports director Milo Harel, who arrived last August and in training this year, will be hired on a permanent contract, "a strong commitment to the club", comments host Chloé Vincent. This is possible thanks to volunteers who work all year round to find funding. Milo Harel plans to increase the training of volunteer educators (there are between 20 and 30), "for ever more qualitative teaching". Each category trains twice a week, there are tournaments, etc. "The human investment is colossal. Without volunteers, it would be impossible. And they have the desire to do well."
