The Society for the Study of Ancient Bas-Rhodanian Civilizations (Secabr) announces the release of its quarterly review, number 170.

It’is a gentle refrain that resonates every quarter : number 170 of Rhodanie, the published review by Secabr (Society for the study of ancient civilizations in the Bas-Rhodan region), has just been released. In summary, the study by André Michelozzi on the Domitian route " between Beaucaire and Nîmes still clearly visible on the maps and that from thousand to thousand, mark out even more spectacularly of around ten high imperial terminals…". Skipping long centuries, Gérard Laval takes the example of the recognition that Lady Hermessinde, co-lord of Saint-André-d’Olérargues and many other places, made in 1260 to her lord l’ rsquo;bishop of Uzès, to study the vassalage relationships which developed after the Carolingian era between vassals and suzerain. The part that the Church already took in it quickly became preponderant. The Revolution put an end to it but deep traces still remain today. This is demonstrated by numerous documents from the last century of the Ancien Régime, private or official, analyzed by Hervé Abrieu.

Cultural and historical hikes

All these studies are part of the multiple activities of Secabr that Dominique Cannaud runs. To close this issue, he summarizes all these activities: cultural hikes and historical, maintenance of the oppidum, and many others including, and not the least, the publication of this review.
