“As long as we do not have the reopening of the amphitheater, there is a risk of losing shows”, affirms Mr. Tremblay, who calls in the same breath for more “predictability” on the part of the government. < /p>
Already on Monday, The Offspring canceled their Canadian tour, which included a stop at the Videotron Center on February 1, due to health restrictions in place to combat the Omicron variant.
In February, March and April, international artists such as Shinedown, Journey, Luke Combs and Imagine Dragons are expected at the Videotron Center. Some concerts are sold out.
“February, March and April, it’s tomorrow morning. Groups are calling us right now and they need an answer. We need a date to be able to maintain the programming”, hammers Martin Tremblay.
“The first option, he continues, is to present the shows, Now, we are considering a second scenario, it's to postpone the tours.”
However, moving a whole series of concerts is not an easy task. Consideration must be given to the availability of amphitheaters in the northeast bloc of North America. Tremblay.
The first presentation in Quebec of the IglooFest is also in danger. Given the investments required to develop Place Jean-Béliveau for this event scheduled for March, a decision will have to be made in the coming days, according to Martin Tremblay.
