Works: The Savonnerie de Lodève carpet factory is getting a makeover

Le choix des matériaux et des couleurs des façades a été acté. A.M.

La dernière phase d’un chantier mené et financé par l’État et le Mobilier national concerne les façades des deux bâtiments de la manufacture de tapis construits dans les années 90.

The major renovation project at Savonnerie, the Mobilier national de Lodève carpet factory, continues with a final phase which concerns the restoration of the facades of the two buildings with ventilation and exterior insulation. This Thursday afternoon, a meeting took place with those responsible for the site and National Furniture, the buildings of France, the company Soprema and the architect Alexandre Senac who is following the project with his colleague Nicolas André for finalize the choice of materials and colors.

A choice of clarity was chosen and validated by the president of Mobilier national Hervé Lemoine, by video conference who, for scheduling reasons, had not been able to "go down" in Lodève.

"We have already done the entire interior with the creation of glass roofs and the green roof", explains the director of the site Jean-Marc Sauvier. "There, we move to the exterior with a cladding in colored panels coated on one part, and in steel corten for the entrance and passageways. This will make it possible to restore, beyond insulation and upgrading, a modern appearance to permanent premises built in the 1990s."< /p>

Insulation and modernization

The oil boiler will also be replaced by a heat pump for a final phase, the amounts of which amount to more than 2 million euros, financed by the State, owner of the site.

"We will also carry out exterior revegetation, the restoration of the gardens to soften the place, make it pleasant and highlight this beautiful building", adds Jean-Marc Sauvier, announcing a final delivery at the end of 2024. "We will also work on welcoming the audiences that we We do all year round during guided tours, access and visibility of a hidden site in partnership with the town hall for the resumption of access from the town entrance."

While awaiting its formalization, a partnership between Mobilier national, the Lodève high school, Greta Hérault west and the Region has been established. It will allow the implementation of the CAP carpet arts professions training from September 2024 at the Vallot high school. I subscribe to read more
