Would you be able to stay in the quietest place in the world?

Would you be able to stay in the quietest place on earth?

UPDATE DAY

The quietest place on Earth is in the United States, and no one can stay there for more than an hour.

It was in 2015 that Microsoft built the quietest place on the planet, even ending up in the Guinness Book of Records.< /p>

This place is actually the anechoic chamber, also called echoless, located at the company's headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The average room ambient sound level is -20.35 dBA.

Very few people have managed to stay in this place for a long time, a maximum of an hour.

Actually, it's not that you won't hear anything in the anechoic chamber: the only noises come from your body.

After just a few minutes you will already start to hear, for example, your heartbeat.

Environments considered ultra-quiet are generally louder than the human threshold of hearing, which is around 0 decibels. The total silence thus gradually turns into an unbearable buzzing in your ears. You might even lose your balance, as the lack of reverberation in the room influences your spatiotemporal cues.

In the United States, in Minneapolis, another anechoic chamber hopes to obtain the title of the place the quietest in the world. Ambient sound is -24.9 dBA, according to Steven J. Orfield, who designed the space. She previously held the record.
