"You know, the content…", swept away the coach of the XV of France Fabien Galthié, Saturday in Edinburgh, preferring to retain the victory on a thread obtained in Scotland (20-16) in the Tournament of the six nations, rather than the manner, a week after the rout against Ireland.
You have a smile tonight…
First of all, it was a victory in Scotland with a fantastic scenario, after a week together, with the players, which reminds us of the values of this game. The week looked like this match. We had a lot of fun together. It's a combat sport, you have to fight. You have to accept adversity. We did it this week. We lose together, we suffer together, we win together.
How did you experience these last five minutes before the video referee did not validate the try?
The referee says there is no try. But we are in Edinburgh, with crazy pressure. He requests video arbitration. The field referee is very well placed, he says that there is no try. But anything can happen, we're used to it. He confirmed his decision… I experienced it, like the week, with great happiness, with great joy. This isn't the first time we've had difficult times, that's how we build ourselves. It's rugby, it's sport but, for us, it's essential. We are the French team, I promised you that the French team would win back.
Are things in the content left to be desired? Not everything was perfect…
When you win in Scotland, you know, the content… I'm fine with it. Given the level of Scotland, that suits me. Given the context, that suits me. It's perfect. We're not here to give demonstrations, we're here to win matches (…) The content is fantastic (smile).
