“You usually only see this in movies!” : a driver misses a roundabout, crosses a fence and crashes into a store

Ce samedi 29 juin 2024, une voiture a fini sa route dans un magasin à Milizac (Finistère). Le conducteur a été pris en charge par les secours.

Although the facts may resemble a movie scene, they are nevertheless very real. This Saturday, at the beginning of the afternoon, a man who was driving in a small town near the Breton coast, missed a roundabout and his vehicle crashed into a DIY store, indicates West France.

"It’is not common"

It was around 1 p.m. that the car, a BMW, came crashing into the Espace Émeraude business, in Milizac, near Brest. Before arriving there, the driver had missed his roundabout and then crossed a fence before finishing his journey in the store, in the back of the shop, specifies the local daily.

"Usually, you only see this in movies!", a said the manager. "It’s not common", he continued. He had to close his sign while the firefighters intervened, who had to extract the vehicle. No fewer than 13 firefighters were present, accompanied by law enforcement.

Nevertheless, the driver of the accident car was slightly injured at the time of the collision and was transported to Brest hospital. According to the manager of the DIY store, he seemed "groggy but not too bad".
