Le rendez-vous était donné sur la place Urbain-V, ce mercredi 1er mai à 10 h 30.

The traditional May 1st parade took place this Wednesday mid-morning, on Place Urbain-V. Around 200 people responded to the invitation from the unions, gathered within of the Lozerian inter-union: CFDT, CFE-CGC, CFTC, CGT, Unsa, Solidaires, FSU and FO. The procession also noted the presence of political representatives and two Palestinian flags.

Moreover, the international situation, in Palestine as in Ukraine, was one of the themes at the heart of the appeal, asking for a " just and lasting peace". Due to current events, the upcoming European elections were also one of the subjects.

Defense of rights

Workers' rights, social rights and union rights were also recalled and their respect requested. Increased wages, social minimums, equal rights and access to education were among the demands put forward by union representatives.

The so-called “shock of knowledge” reform project gave rise, at the end of the course, to a happening proposed by a group from Florac. The demonstrators were invited to form two lines, "the weak on one side, the strong on the other& quot;. A way of illustrating "the sorting of students" denounced by opponents of ;rsquo;establishment of level groups in middle school.
