2024 budgets voted, local tax rates do not change

La prochaine séance est prévue le mardi 11 juin, toiujours dans l’espace Marie-Christine Bousquet.

The municipal council, meeting this Tuesday, April 2, approved the projects.

Two weeks after debating the budgetary orientations, the municipal council met again this Tuesday, April 2 at the Marie-Christine-Bousquet space to vote this time on this year's budgets 2024. A session which necessarily involved less debate than the previous one and whose budget was presented by finance assistant Marie-Laure Verdol: "The initial 2024 budget is €23.6 million including €12 million for the operating section and €11.6 million for investment."< /p>

Rates unchanged even if the bases increase

In terms of major projects, we will recall the work on the Saint-Fulcran bell tower, the Grézac playground and the Beaumont sports complex.

Local tax rates remained unchanged compared to 2023 (54.12% for built land, 129% for unbuilt land and 19.52% for second homes and vacant premises) . "As we had committed, we are not increasing our taxes", enthused Mayor Gaëlle Lévêque, even if she recalled in the same time as taxpayers paid more due to the increase in the rate bases decided by the State.

"Finally, you are not working to reduce the city's debt, but rather to maintain it", worried Damien Rouquette for the opposition. To which the mayor responded: "It’s a choice because we were elected for projects. We are a community, we are here to offer services to residents in a general period where living together takes on its full meaning."

< p>On the menu of this session, a first wave of subsidies to local associations was voted on, as was the sale of a municipal plot on the Place des Carmes for the construction of a villa for aid to childhood through the Montpellier association Charles-Prévost Notre-dame-de-Lenne. Around ten young people from Lodévois will be followed there in the long term.

During the meeting, the assembly also approved the construction, on agricultural land between the recycling center and the wastewater treatment plant, of the future building for the Household Waste collection service carried by the Lodévois and Larzac intermunicipality. I subscribe to read more
