À une semaine des Jeux Paralympiques de Paris 2024 (28 août – 8 septembre), 1,75 million de billets ont été vendus selon les organisateurs, dont 700 000 depuis le début des Jeux Olympiques.

"Game is not over", as stated in the brand new communication campaign of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For the first time, the French capital is hosting the Paralympic Games, and it intends to pull out all the stops. “We will find the same ingredients that left their mark during the Olympic Games”, said Michaël Aloïsio, Deputy CEO of Paris 2024, during a press conference on Wednesday, August 21.

“The last opportunity to experience these Games at home”

Seven days before the Paralympic Games, 1.75 million tickets have been sold, including 700,000 since the start of the Olympic events on July 27. “92% of buyers are French. It is considered that there has been a popular craze since the start of the Olympic Games. The Paralympic Games are the last opportunity to experience these Games at home. And the public understood it well”, Michaël Aloïsio was pleased.

According to the organizers, a dozen sports are already almost sold out, with an occupancy rate of over 90%. This concerns iconic sites, such as the Eiffel Tower, which thrilled the public so much during the Olympics with the beach volleyball events.

Tickets are going fast, and 15 of the 22 sports at the Paralympic Games are already 75% full. “It's been accelerating in recent days, there's not much time left to grab the last tickets”, recalls the organizing committee, which also indicates that sales increased tenfold at the end of the Olympic Games.

Paralympic sports attract

With para-athletics at the top of the bill, the first sport of the Games for which more than 500,000 tickets were purchased, the Paralympic sports attract. For boccia and goalball, sports that are not present at the Olympic Games, more than 60% of tickets have already been purchased. And for the first time, Paris 2024 will offer a hospitality service during the Paralympic Games, but only at certain iconic or more accessible sites.

There are currently still 800,000 tickets on sale, starting at 15 euros. The organizers do not intend to sell them off if they are not sold, preferring to focus on communication. And they are also counting on schoolchildren to create an atmosphere in the competition venues.
