Aged 66, she waited nearly 10 hours in the emergency room before dying: her children filed a complaint against the establishment

A 66-year-old woman presented to the emergency room at the Simone Veil hospital in Val d'Oise in Eaubonne. She spent 10 hours there before dying suddenly. His children decided to file a complaint for ''failure to assist a person in danger".

Could this tragedy have been avoided ? Josiane Desruels, 66 years old, was presented to the emergency room of l' Simone Veil hospital in Val d'Oise in Eaubonne,  with legs that have doubled in volume, reports France 3 Paris Île-de-France. 

The Samu quickly confirms that the sixty-year-old's pulse is abnormally low but she is not directly taken care of. She will spend the night in a corridor without treatment, writhing in pain. She is prescribed a simple Tramadol.

She won't see a doctor until the next morning at 10 o'clock. At 11:40 a.m., Nelly, Josiane Desruels' daughter, learns that her mother has died, after succumbing to cardiac arrest.

Several similar events in this hospital

Quickly, Nelly calls the medical profession to find out why her mother was not taken care of sooner. "We were overwhelmed" the caregivers would have responded. 

Nelly and her brothers then decided to file a complaint against the establishment for failure to assist a person in danger. France 3 reveals that several other complaints have been filed for similar events occurring in the Eaubonne emergency room.
