Rugby, perail, butchery… Details of aid from the Occitanie Region for South Aveyron

La Région Occitanie a dévoilé les aides distribuées aux différentes entités du département de l'Aveyron.

The Occitanie Region revealed the various aid allocated to South Aveyron during the last permanent commission which met at the beginning of March. In total, 108 entities in the department received a subsidy from the Region. This represents 7,284,138M€, according to the press release sent by the Region.

45,000 € for the perail

In Millau, the pérail association was supported to the tune of 45,000 euros. "The Pérail association has been working for nearly 30 years to protect the appellation and supervise the production of this delicacy, here, in Aveyron, notes the press release. She has developed precise specifications to which breeders and cheesemakers must adhere. For this, fifty specially trained people crisscross the department and check the compliance of more than 1,000 companies engaged in an annual production of around 1,200 tonnes. Beyond the Pérail itself, that’s all the ecosystem of the production region which lives thanks to this small round, cream-colored pebble with a sweet and slightly salty flavor. The Region supports the approach to the tune of 45,000 euros, consolidating its position at the top of the European regions in supporting quality production!" 

SOM rugby will also receive aid for the development of its training center. The club also wishes to acquire weight training equipment to develop a dedicated space. 32 young people are affected by this structure and 7,000 euros will be paid by the Region. 

73 000€ for Sylvanès

The Abbey of Sylvanès is also helped with an envelope of 73,000 euros. "The Abbey of Sylvanès offers a multitude of activities. Large site in Occitanie, cultural meeting center open ten months a year, this place installed in a magnificent Romanesque building, also offers a musical season outside the summer months" , justifies the Region in the press release.

Finally, in Saint-Affrique, the opening of a new butcher's shop, run by Laurent Monestié. "When  he learns that the last butcher's shop in Saint-Affrique is closing, he decides to get started, details the Region's press service. He then acquires an old coffee roastery and completely redone it. Since last October, this professional butcher has opened his business from Tuesday to Saturday in the morning and Friday afternoon. An employee helps him out on Saturday, market day. Its meats, beef, lamb, veal, pork and poultry come from the department. The Occitanie Region is participating in the project to the tune of 8,300 €."
