Pour extérioriser leur colère, des jeunes femmes se retrouvent en pleine forêt pour libérer leur rage. Les "rage rituals" sont devenus une tendance sur les réseaux sociaux, notamment sur TikTok.

A new trend is circulating on social networks, particularly on TikTok, which involves women paying a fortune to go into forests to break objects. Experts have dubbed this practice “rage rituals” or "rituals of rage" in French, reports The Independent.

Wellness retreats that include anti-stress ceremonies, classes in which participants shout and hit the ground with large sticks. The forests are far from residential areas so women can express their rage freely.

These courses find their fans. Just watch the videos published on the TikTok of the Scottish Mia Magik, who presents herself as a "spiritual fairy godmother" and organizes retreats first for herself and her friends, before adding them as an option to her wellness retreats.

Between $2,000 and $4,000 per day

A day of "ritual rage" costs between $2,000 and $4,000. During the rage ritual, Magik guides participants to come to terms with their deepest emotions, guiding them to through warm-ups and deep breathing. Typically, she tells them to invoke "anyone who has ever upset you, who has ever hurt you, who has ever ignored your boundaries, who has taken advantage of you or who has mistreated you in any way".

"When people do this and allow themselves to release their anger, their capacity for joy increases" , declared Magik to our colleagues. "They are able to feel more happiness and pleasure, and they return home to their families with more gratitude, ease, and peace", she adds. Some experts note, however, that rage rituals don't work for everyone.

Many women on social media commented on the videos that went viral, expressing relief after channeling their anger and accepting their emotions.

Primal scream therapy, which is an important aspect of the rage ritual, was developed in the 1970s by psychologist Arthur Yanov to release repressed trauma, and was touted by the couple powerful John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
