Le cycliste français de la Lidl-Trek Julien Bernard s’est stoppé au milieu de son contre-la-montre, lors de la septième étape, ce vendredi 5 juillet.
He was welcomed as a hero. In the only small bump of the seventh stage, the Frenchman Julien Bernard was acclaimed and the rider even allowed himself the luxury of setting foot on the ground to greet the mother of his child and the latter.
The reason is simple. The cyclist is from the region and was welcomed as the regional of the stage by all his relatives. "These roads, I know them by heart"< /em>, he admitted, to discuss the 7th stage between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin.

"It’was even better than in my dreams"
"My girlfriend has been planning this for weeks. It was even better than in my dreams, on these beautiful roads. I really wanted to take part in this race", reacted the 32-year-old runner, speaking to France Télévisons, upon arrival in Gevrey-Chambertin.
No pressure for the Frenchman, who has no chance in the general classification, being 40th. He will try to help his leader Giulio Ciccone in the coming days so that the Italian retains his place in the top 10 overall (9th).
