Après une saison avec les espoirs du MHR, Tom Di Pasquale effectue son retour au sein du club nîmois. Demi de mêlée d’avenir, il arrive avec l’ambition de titiller les anciens que sont Bastien Gensana et Justin Philips.

Flashback. Sunday June 5, 2022, on the Revel lawn. The National juniors of RC Nîmes are crowned champions of France with, as captain, a certain Tom Di Pasquale. A player trained at Les Angles then “poli” at the RCN, joined as Alamercery cadets in 2020. Pure talent.

Di Pasquale even has, during the 2022-2023 season, his first match sheet with the Nîmes first team, in Nationale 2 against Rumilly. "A great emotion, a wonderful memory with a real group of friends", has not forgotten the scrum half twenty years old.

He faced the demands of the high level with the hopes of the MHR

Last season, Tom Di Pasquale also competed at the high level within the Montpellier Hérault Rugby junior team. "I had a very good season there." The final stages were narrowly missed, the Héraultais , third in their group, having been beaten to the post by Castres. "I’above all, I have gained a lot of experience", notes Di Pasquale, notably coached by former players Jesse Mogg and Benoît Paillaugue.

"Tom returns to the club after a year at MHR where he faced the demands of the high level, adds the manager of the RCN, Guillaume Aguilar. We know the player, he has an imposing physique for a scrum half. He has a different profile from those of Bastien Gensana or Justin Philips", the two “dads” Nîmes in this sector.

In competition with two elements of experience

"He’is a wired player who will listen to the staff, the leaders and who will apply the strategy, continues Guillaume Aguilar. Now he knows he is competing against two experienced players. He still has a lot of work to do to wear the number 9. It's up to him to do everything to come and tickle the elders."

Tom Di Pasquale knows all this. He intends, however, to shake up the hierarchy a little and manage to "get some playing time, while continuing to learn alongside Bastien and Justin".

Scrum half with a profile of "manager and ball sorter", Tom Di Pasquale, depending on the moment , knows how to speed up the game as well as slow it down. Despite his young age, he has a good head on his shoulders and he seems to have the necessary temperament to succeed in his new adventure.
