#MONTPELLIER – Wine is a whole story. Cultural heritage, it "is part of the DNA of Montpellier", Mayor Michaël Delafosse likes to repeat. To celebrate this heritage, O’Millésimes returns to Domaine d’O. "We wanted with this event to introduce people to the territory through wine, by associating it with different forms of art", recalls Roger-Yannick Chartier, deputy mayor. On July 19 and 20, 2024, from 6:30 p.m., concerts, introductions to dance, storytelling, and even cinema, around wine with eight winegrowers per evening and seven producers of local specialties.

#RODEZ – This is the cost in euros of the restoration project of the bell tower and the south face of the famous cathedral of Rodez, in Aveyron."The south face is the side which suffered the most because of temperature variations", explains Quentin Muller, president of the Vermorel company. This Friday, July 19, the Patrouille de France will also give a show in the skies over Cap d’Agde.

Durban-Corbières deprived of water 16 hours a day

#AUDE –The situation is very precarious in Durban-Corbières, in Aude. Plagued by drought, the town of more than 600 inhabitants is experiencing a profound deterioration of its water reserves. The cause: dry groundwater, a water tower at a worrying level and pipe leaks. A situation which pushed the municipality to take drastic measures, cutting off access to water from 2 p.m. to 6 a.m. to all its citizens. Two bottles of water per person per day are distributed to compensate. Faced with the cut since July 15, 2024, residents do not understand how it got to this point. Serge testifies: "Even when we are supposed to have access to water from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., it is only a very thin trickle of water. rsquo;water flowing, since everyone draws water at the same time." The chief magistrate of Durban-Corbières wants to be reassuring:"We will bring in two water tankers on Monday (July 22). I call on everyone to show patience and solidarity during this complicated time."

The 160 km of Florac canceled

#LOZERE – The 160 km of Florac, an event created in 1975 and recognized in the calendar of equestrian endurance races in Europe , will not take place this year on August 24 and 25, due to lack of budget. The organization explains that it is facing the withdrawal of a sponsor, the United Arab Emirates stable Al Maghaweer Stables. Because in parallel with the race, breedings have developed in the lineage of Persik, an Arabian stallion born in Russia. "The showcase of world breeding of the&rsquo ;endurance comes from this race", insists Jean-Paul Boudon, president of Lozère Endurance équestre, the organizing association. The race is due to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. The organizers are not throwing in the towel and are working on an anniversary edition in 2025.
