The youngest of the Lebrun brothers is the last chance for a French medal in singles in this table tennis tournament. He plays his quarter-final this Thursday, August 1st.
Montpellier's Félix Lebrun, ranked 5th in the world and who at 17 years old is carrying the hopes of a French Olympic medal in table tennis, qualified by force on Wednesday for the quarter-finals of the men's singles by beating the German Dimitrij Ovtcharov (25th) 4-3.
The young French table tennis player, who is discovering the Olympic Games in the crazy atmosphere of the Arena Paris Sud, which is all for his cause, won 11-9, 15-13, 12-10, 8-11, 3-11, 8-11, 11-7, at the end of a match at Hitchcockian scenario.
He will have as rival on Thursday, at 3pm, the Taiwanese Lin Yu-ju (8th), in case of victory, to reach the last four, with two chances of medal.
