Ce dimanche 4 août les arènes du littoral de Camargue invitent trois matadors à affronter un bétail espagnol de Salamanque.

After having, for several temporadas, displayed a bullfight built on the aesthetics of Sevillian bullfighting and flamenco music, Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, for several summers, have adopted a different style, offering posters where the characteristics of the bulls favor fights of great intensity.

A batch of bulls from Pedraza de Yeltes

To follow in the footsteps of the names of ganaderias already on display for several summers in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (in August 2022, it was the prestigious Victorino Martin breeding that aficionados praised), the choice for this new edition fell on Pedraza de Yeltes. Raised in the Salamanca region, the bulls wearing these colours are being presented in the Camargue this weekend. If the residents of this breeding have already, on several occasions, confirmed their precious qualities in the South-West of France (Dax in particular), they must, on the Camargue coast, display, in addition to their regularly highlighted morphology, their bravery, promise of high-relief fights.

Three matadors at the paseo, three styles to note

To fight this lot, the composed cartel will bring together three matadors with different personalities; Head of lidia for this day, Clemente, less than two months before his confirmation as an alternative in Nîmes as part of the Vendanges feria, is back on the track in Saintes-Marties-de-la-Mer for the third consecutive summer. A bullfighter with solid technique and never-failing courage, he demonstrates precious sincerity and ardor in each of his contracts. He will be accompanied on the paseo by two bullfighters with different temperaments and styles. Left on the sidelines for too long, Andy Younes is finally called upon to make his sensitivity appreciated, the writing of a bullfighter rich in classy details and a delicate muleta. With the Mexican Leo Valadez finally, there is room for generosity in the fights and a constant commitment in the always colorful faenas.
