Tribute to the tracker pilot killed on a mission

#GARD Five years to the day after the crash of the tracker that cost the pilot his life, a tribute was paid to him this Friday, August 2. The town of Générac reiterated its gratitude to Franck Chesneau, whose plane crashed while the flames had set fire to vegetation over hundreds of hectares.

The mayor and the prefect of Gard highlighted his commitment, courage and determination to fight fires as a pilot of the Civil Security from which he came. Eva Chesneau, the widow, was present at the ceremony where she expressed her gratitude to the people who supported her.

She spoke of a form of resilience that had allowed her to rebuild herself after the ordeal she endured. A few moments before the end of the ceremony, a Civil Security plane (Dash) cut through the sky and flew over the cemetery and the war memorial as a sign to the missing pilot.

All-round checks on the A9 for the cross-country race
