Ce dimanche 11 août, dans le Bas-Rhin, un avion de tourisme s’est écrasé dans la matinée. Les deux personnes présentes dans l’appareil sont décédées. Une enquête a été ouverte.
It was in Eschbach, a small village located in the Bas-Rhin, that the accident occurred, this Sunday, August 11 in the morning. Two people who were on board a small tourist plane died in the crash of the aircraft which ended its course in a field, indicates France 3 regions. The plane was a Dynamic WT9 ULM, and had just taken off from the Haguenau airfield.
The parachute could not be activated
A resident living near the field called for help shortly before 9 a.m. Among the two victims was the president of the Haguenau flying club, a colonel in the national gendarmerie. In the columns of our colleagues, one of the members of the aero-club declares: “It's a tragedy, it's a catastrophe. We're waiting for new elements before reacting”.
According to our colleagues from DNA, the explosive charge, planned in the event of a fall in order to release the reserve parachute, had been activated by one of the two people on board, but it apparently could not have opened at such a low altitude. An investigation is underway to determine the precise circumstances of the accident.
