Wanted since Saturday, August 17, the second person implicated in the Auchan Pérols scam case surrendered Monday evening and returned all the equipment that the duo of scammers had purchased through their scheme.

In the&amp ;species, bottles of champagne and alcohol, hi-fi equipment, scooters… The provisional damage would be around 13,000 euros.

False ad on Leboncoin

Compulsive purchases that they made through consumer credits taken out using bank documents and identity documents of third parties who had rushed to respond to a fake rental property ad published on Leboncoin and of which they were the authors.

But that was without counting on the vigilance of the managers of the Auchan Pérols hypermarket who were surprised by the two suspects' repeated purchases of hi-fi equipment.

Informed, the national police officers then set up discreet surveillance within the store. This allowed them to apprehend one of the accused after new purchases. In this case, a 24-year-old man from Montpellier who was immediately taken into custody.

In his mobile phone, which he had tried to get rid of during his arrest, investigators discovered a multitude of identity documents of third parties. Thus confirming that there was indeed something fishy in this affair.

After their hearings, these two Montpellier residents aged 24 and 25, who admitted the facts and indicated that the scam had been set up a month ago, were released.
