31-year-old man found dead in the street, shot in the back in Lyon

A man was found dead in the heart of Lyon, in the 9th arrondissement. He was shot in the back. A murder investigation is underway. 

A man was shot dead in the night of Friday 30 to Saturday 31 August in Lyon, we learned from a judicial source.

Investigation opened

The man, aged 31 and living in Lyon, was killed “a little before 1am on Saturday” in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon, the prosecutor's office told AFP, confirming information from the local daily Le Progrès. Our colleagues specify that the man was shot in the back. 

An investigation has been opened on the charge of murder, specified the prosecutor, who was not able to specify whether the victim was known to the police, or even to the courts, nor to indicate whether the theory of settling scores was favored.
