Mende – Paris Orly in three hours by coach and plane: the shuttle again passes through Le Puy-en-Velay

After a few months via Rodez (Aveyron), the take-off is again from Loudes airport (Haute-Loire), with a coach from Mende (Lozère).

A shuttle provided by Hugon Transports allows, from Mende, to reach an airport in order to then reach Paris, reducing the travel time by half, when it takes at least seven hours by bus then train (via Clermont-Ferrand) to reach the capital. A service particularly appreciated by business leaders.

While the bus had previously taken the Mende residents to Loudes airport (about ten kilometers from Puy-en-Velay), the denunciation by the air transport company Twin Jet of the public service delegation contract that linked it to the urban community of Puy-en-Velay had put an end to this connection last spring.

Never mind, the City of Mende, linked by a public service delegation with Hugon Tourisme for this connection, had found a fallback solution in Rodez, where the flight to Paris was then provided by the airline Amélia. A temporary solution, which was to last until the end of the summer.

Round trip possible during the day

Laurent Suau, then mayor of Mende, confided to Midi Libre, on April 15, 2024: “I have no doubt that Laurent Wauquiez will find a solution to resume the connection” from Le Puy-en-Velay. And that is indeed the case.

Twin Jet has just won the new call for tenders for the Le Puy connection – Paris, and is therefore resuming service this September. The road shuttle is also starting up again for Loudes airport. Departure from Mende at 5 a.m., arrival in Paris at 8 a.m.; departure from Mende at 3:10 p.m., arrival in Paris at 6:10 p.m. Departure from Paris at 8:20 a.m., arrival in Mende at 10:50 a.m.; departure from Paris at 6:50 p.m., arrival in Mende at 9:20 p.m. The shuttle is booked on the Twin Jet website, at the same time as the flight booking.
