Due to the Cévennes episode announced this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September, the Gard Department is temporarily closing the temporary bridge which overlooks the Luech in the Cévennes.

Due to the bad weather forecast and possible flooding of the Luech, the Gard Department informs of the closure of the temporary bridge of Chamborigaud, in the Cévennes.

The decision was taken due to the risk of flooding and overflowing waters that the Cévennes episode forecast for this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September could cause.

The reopening of the bridge is, at this time, planned for this Sunday, depending on the weather and if no damage is, by then, noted on the work.

The temporary bridge of Chamborigaud, submersible, was built following the collapse of the historic bridge of the village, on March 18th. Smaller, its crossing is authorized only for cars and light transport. It is prohibited for vehicles of more than 12 m and more than 26 tons.

The collapsed bridge of Chamborigaud, called the Châtaigniers, is currently being rebuilt. The work should last until the fall of 2025 according to the Department.
