A must-see for ten years on Rue de la Loge, the Yellow Korner photo gallery is reinventing itself on Rue Foch in Montpellier

La boutique a rouvert ce samedi 14 septembre 2024 dans son nouveau local et selon un concept davantage dans l'air du temps.

Last May, after ten years of presence on rue de la Loge, Yellow Korner closed the curtain on what was one of the most prominent shop windows in the city. More than a boutique, an art gallery, a photo gallery. But now, after a 40 to 45% drop in turnover in five years, Eric Teissandier had to review his model. Since this Saturday, he has been installed on Rue Foch, a stone's throw from his old address.

“A question of strategy”

“The economic equation is much more interesting here, the boss emphasizes. I lost a good third of my exhibition space, going from 92 to 52 m2, but I also made a big saving on rent and everything that goes with rent: electricity bill, land, etc. It's a question of strategy. At the bottom, I had a fairly low conversion rate, that is to say the number of people who come in and the number of people who buy. It was around 6 to 8%. It was more of an attraction than a business. I stayed there for ten years, I have a large client file, I'm not worried. And then even if I will attract fewer passing customers, with the Christmas market and the events at Peyrou, there are people."

Fewer photos exhibited but just as much stock

Eric Teissandier is therefore preparing to work with customers who will come to see him more specifically. If the exhibition area is smaller, the stock is just as important. And the screen offers a digital innovation: you choose the photo you like and Eric displays it in large format in high definition. Guaranteed effect.“If I have it in stock, the customer can leave with it. Otherwise, he places an order, with the possibility of having it delivered to his home within fifteen days, anywhere in the world. This gives access to the entire catalog and allows for a much more interactive selection."

A much more refined style for a gallery that has lost nothing in quality.

Patagonia at Jeu-de-Paume

Éric Teissandier had planned to close for only one to two weeks to move his Yellow Korner store from rue de la Loge to rue Foch. But here it is, the vicissitudes of real estate decided otherwise.

While the naughty Passage du désir brand has been installed since June 21 at 24 rue de la Loge, Yellow Korner had to wait a little before taking possession of its new address, in place of Patagonia, the hiking clothing and equipment brand now well established at 14 boulevard du Jeu-de-Paume, a few steps from The North Face. The circle is complete.
