The 27th edition of this event opened this Saturday, September 21, in the medieval city of this small town in the Gard. But a risk of rain threatens to disrupt the rest of this event…

"Everything is going well. Attendance is good", says Lise Fossat, from the Maison de la Figue, this Saturday, September 21, early in the afternoon. In the medieval town of Vézénobres, the public wanders, attracted by the 27th edition of Jours de figues, which highlights Egypt, the second largest producer of this emblematic fruit of the town.

The fresh figs “were gone quickly”

Visitors move from exhibitions to conferences, attend the musical and carnivalesque stroll of the group Grail’Oli, and sometimes stop at the stands of local producers. Dried figs are there, but fresh ones are rare. "They are gone quickly ! We hope to have some tomorrow…", confides Lise Fossat.

A meeting planned to "take stock"

This Sunday, September 22, a day during which the weather forecast is capricious, is a source of concern for the second opus of Jours de figues. A meeting is planned for this Saturday evening to "take stock", to see what the organizers could maintain or cancel. All the more so since the program is intended to be rich, with, in particular, an open-air culinary competition.
