In Milhaud, an electric 2-CV crisscrosses the streets of the village and its surroundings

Robert and his electric “Deuch”, which gains a few horsepower equivalents in the process but loses its characteristic noise.

Robert, habitant de Milhaud ayant cette passion pour la “Deuch” et étant particulièrement concerné par le réchauffement climatique et ses conséquences a fait transformer sa 2-CV Club de 1985 en une version totalement électrique.

Robert is a Citroën fanatic. A long time ago, after having tried many of the car brand's models, he first chose a “Méhari” but in the end, he preferred the “Deuch”, which was more flexible and less noisy to his taste. He has had six of them in his life, however, his last acquisition, a 2-CV Club from 1985, after using it for many years, he kept it well protected for twenty years. Having this passion for the “Deuch&rdquo and being particularly concerned by global warming and its alarming consequences for humanity, he had it transformed.

An electric motor equivalent to 40 HP

To do this, in 2022, he entrusted it to the professionals of the Méhari club Cassis. They installed an electric motor of around 20 kWs, or about 40 hp, in place of the combustion engine, as well as the battery and all the accessories necessary for the legendary vehicle to be able to return to service while respecting nature. It is therefore in this silent vehicle with a flexibility that best protects his fragile spine that Robert travels with his wife and dog, in Milhaud and its surroundings.

All those who knew the great era of the legendary 2-CV are surprised when it passes by to no longer hear the characteristic noise of the famous twin-cylinder. “Despite its cost, I am very happy to have had this transformation done and to reuse this silent and very flexible vehicle, easy to handle, which allows me to drive quietly and economically”, exclaims Robert, proud of an idea that could make some noise.
