Mazan rape case: “He explained to me that it was a game”, accused reveal what was happening in the Pelicot's room

On September 30, 2024, five defendants testified on the show 7 à 8. While some admitted to having raped Gisèle Pelicot when she was sleeping, others remain convinced that it was just a sex game. In total, 50 men, as well as Dominique Pelicot, are on trial in Avignon until December for aggravated rape.

They don't all have the same version of events. As the trial for aggravated rape continues at the Vaucluse criminal court, five defendants testified to our colleagues at TF1 for the program 7 to 8.

They are among the 51 men, including Dominique Pelicot, accused of raping Gisèle Pelicot without her knowledge until 2020. Identified thanks to videos found on the computer of the alleged instigator of the sixty-year-old's ordeal, they do not admit to all the facts.

A “game” sordid

One of the accused told our colleagues that he thought he was taking part in a sex game: “He explained to me that it was a game, especially a game, that she is going to sleep and that she is going to wake up in the action, in what we are going to do, and afterwards, she participates with us.”

Another recognizes however that: “The sexual act happens, no reaction. I look at his face and I find it a little strange that there is no reaction, but it's so tangled, I don't know anymore. He's there, so it's ok. We don't ask ourselves the question.”

Following Dominique Pelicot's instructions, they would have raped the sixty-year-old without realizing it: “She snores and he holds her head. He tells me about the blowjob. I did what he told me."

Under orders ?

Many of the accused have claimed, since the beginning of the trial, that they did not realize that Gisèle Pelicot was really unconscious and drugged. For them, they were deceived: "I went into this house, he made me wash my hands. He didn't want perfume, not someone who smokes, he was against smoking because he was afraid she would wake up. But I don't pay attention to that. “

“And then I see she's sleeping. I'm naked. He tells me what to do in a somewhat directive tone, that's it. And it's true that I obey. And then he asked me to penetrate her”, says one of the accused, claiming that he was obeying Gisèle's ex-husband.
