“The kids didn't even get their equipment”: the worrying situation of SC Sète on the table of the municipal council

L’élu d’opposition Sébastien Denaja s'est fait le rapporteur de l'étonnement des parents de jeunes joueurs, en soulignant qu'ils n'ont pas eu leur équipement, comme le veut la tradition en début de saison.

The municipal council of Sète, Monday, September 30, gave the PS elected official Sébastien Denaja the opportunity to question the deputy for sports, Hervé Marquès, about the worrying situation of SC Sète.

Between late payments, resignations and players' strikes, the opposition elected official made himself the rapporteur of the astonishment of the parents of young players, emphasizing that “the kids from SC Sète didn't even get their equipment”, as is the tradition at the start of the season. 

“The equipment will be delivered tomorrow (this Tuesday)", Hervé Marquès promised before the board, without going into detail about the reasons for this hiccup.

"FC Sète" should make his return

The sports representative then acknowledged late payments to players “with certain salary demands”, but assured that the compensation would be paid. He then denied the resignations of the club's coach and vice-president.

Finally, Hervé Marquès recalled that SC Sète would be able, probably in 2025, to regain its original name “FC Sète”, withdrawn following the club's bankruptcy in 2023.
