“The book is ecumenical”: from Mohed Altrad to René Revol, the corporate book is on show this Saturday, October 5

This is an innovation designed to make books a performance tool. The Cercle des auteurs du livre d'entreprise is organizing a first dedicated fair that will take place on Saturday at the Hôtel Saint-Côme of the CCI Hérault in Montpellier. Interview with Florian Mantione, who is behind it.

You are organizing the first corporate book fair, why and what is it ?

To bring books into the company. It is about encouraging employees to read corporate books so that they can improve. And if they improve, the company will improve. These are books on management, human resources, personal development, stress management…

Who will we find at this fair ?

There will be 55 authors, which is a lot. We will find Mohed Altrad or René Revol, who will come to present their works and which clearly shows that the book is ecumenical. Then we will find bigwigs in the field like Jean-Marie Peretti, the pope of human resources in France, or Jacques Igalens, in the field of management. Or Laurent Capeletti, a very well-known and highly respected teacher in his field. And many others of course.

What does the business book represent ?

Quite a few things to tell the truth and that's a shame. We prefer novels and practical books, whereas for me, an essay on business encourages reflection. However, in business, we are in action. The book allows us to take a step back, better analyze our behavior, better understand that of our boss or colleagues.

Why is it important to bring culture into the company ?

To improve. When we watch a TV show on this subject, we remember very little. Whereas the book allows us to take a step back. And besides, I encourage everyone to write a book. And I want to launch the project to help companies create their own library. A pooling to create exchanges and make the book a support for reflection.
