Reactions after MHB – Silkeborg: “We are proud of what we have produced”, “We apologize to the club and our supporters”

Erick Mathé et Kyllian Villeminot étaient très satisfaits de la prestation du MHB lors de la victoire écrasante contre Silkeborg (40-26), lors de la première journée de Ligue européenne, mardi 8 octobre au FDI Stadium.

Montpellier

Erick Mathé, MHB coach: “We are proud of what we produced. The first half is a benchmark half for us in terms of commitment and level of play. We lost two balls, we projected ourselves into large spaces… We were focused on them because we knew they had experienced players, against Aalborg they held out for 45 minutes. So we had to be serious and set the pace because we knew they were going to be right on the rotations.

The whole group was efficient, the rotations bring a lot each time. I think that it is one of our strengths, we have two teams in the same group that can both be very efficient."

Kyllian Villeminot, MHB center half : "We started the match very well with a big defense and fast play. We knew that playing in large spaces was our guilty pleasure but we had a very good first half and we knew how to manage the second. So it was a complete and really accomplished match from our side."

Silkeborg

Simon Sorensen, Silkeborg coach: "Congratulations to Montpellier, they played a very good match. We are not satisfied with the result and the performance. From the beginning it was tough, we knew we had to run very fast to play 7 against 6 but we did not manage to trouble them. Montpellier is a great team, it was a good win for them."

Alexander Lynggard, Silkeborg pivot: "Congratulations to them, they played very well. We didn't want to play like that, we apologize to the club and our supporters. At half-time, we talked about forgetting this first half and being more present in the game. We did a little better in the second. Few teams will come and win here, congratulations to this great Montpellier team."
