A man suspected of having sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in the city center of Perpignan was arrested this Sunday, April 28.

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly the victim of rape by a 33-year-old man on the night of Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 April in the city center of Perpignan, according to information revealed by France Bleu Roussillon. The events took place around 3 a.m. while the victim was taking part in an alcoholic sleepover with minors.

During this party, the teenager feels bad and goes out to get some fresh air. It was at this moment that she was approached by a man much older than her. According to the young girl's statements, she was then attacked and raped in the street by this individual whom she did not know, according to L’Indépendant. Shortly after, she managed to escape and return to the accommodation from which she had left.
