A 3-year-old drowns in a private swimming pool: his mother saves his life thanks to advice from firefighters given by telephone

According to La Dépêche, a 3-year-old boy was saved by his mother thanks to a cardiac massage after finding himself in cardio-respiratory arrest in a private swimming pool in Tarn-et-Garonne, Tuesday July 16 .

At 2:30 p.m., the departmental fire and rescue operational center (Codis) was called for the drowning of a little boy in the town of Saint-Paul- d’Espis. Immersed in a private swimming pool located on the Malause road, the 3-year-old child was in cardio-respiratory arrest. According to La Dépêche, his mother gave him a cardiac massage on the remote advice of a firefighter operator.

Transported by helicopter to the hospital

At 4 p.m., the little boy's heart started again. However, given the seriousness of his state of health, the decision was made to take him to the children's hospital at Toulouse-Purpan University Hospital. At 5 p.m., a Smur helicopter landed in a field next to the private property, at a place called "Espiémonts".

The mayor of the town, Lido Marchiol, left the inauguration ceremony of the Maison France Services where he was, to join the family and provide his support.

"We must hope for this little boy an outcome as happy as the one we experienced, 5 or 6 years ago, in our town. This time, it was a little girl of the same age who was found in a swimming pool. The first actions taken before the arrival of help were decisive and she survived", he tells our colleagues.
