A 300 m race on the Gardon
The highlight of the day was the release into the water at 5:15 p.m. of 24,711 ducks. In previous days, everyone could sponsor a duck for the sum of 3 euros; and after a 300m race on the Gardon, the first 51 won a prize including a car for the winner.
Sponsorship record
Frédéric Moline, one of the organizers, was proud to announce that the record number of sponsorships (24,711) had been won in France for this first edition organized on the national territory, like those which have already taken place in London and on Lake Ontario in the State of New York (USA).
Note that all the ducks have been recovered!
