Thursday, May 16, the inter-union called for a rally in front of the Béziers court in support of the two young trade unionists arrested during the demonstration against the extreme right on April 23 and summoned by the justice.

Thursday May 16, the inter-union called for a rally in front of the Béziers court. "We are here to support two comrades Student Solidarity and Precarious Solidarity unions, explains Mathilde Vidal, member of the same union. They were illegitimately arrested during the demonstration against the extreme right."

"They charged with disproportionate violence"

Jasmin and Lilian, both students and trade unionists, were with the two defendants during this arrest. “We do not take violent action as a union. Everything was happening peacefully. There was, apparently, no reason for a police charge. Suddenly, the CRS rushed towards the procession with disproportionate violence. They arrived from our right and pushed us into an adjacent street in which there were already police cars to block the other exit. It’was premeditated."

Laurent and Ezra*, the two young people involved, were then placed in police custody for several hours for "carrying carbonated gas& ;quot;, tear gas bombs. Before being summoned to court on May 16.

A summons which does not pass, for the two concerned: "We clearly feel that it is political repression which is taking place ;anchor in a global context, they detail. Yesterday in Rennes, three comrades were arrested because they were towing for Palestine. At the same time, there was an extreme right demonstration the other day with 500 hooded neo-Nazis in Paris, some of whom are on the S file, who are not being repressed."

After a brief appearance before the judge, one for each, they were both fined 300 euros.
