On October 13, 2023, France was in shock after the Arras attack perpetrated by Mohammed Mogouchkov, where Professor Dominique Bernard died. According to an expert psychologist, the perpetrator of the attack would present a high criminological and psychopathological danger.

On October 13, the Gambetta high school in Arras was the target of a terrorist knife attack carried out by a former student: Mohammed Mogouchkov. The radicalized assailant met with an expert psychologist, who submitted his report in February. He believes that the terrorist who killed French teacher Dominique Bernard presents "high-risk psychiatric disorders", reports < em>BFMTV.

Narcissism and paranoia

Our colleagues were able to consult this document this Wednesday, but it dates from last February 12 more precisely. The report therefore indicates that Mohammed Mogouchkov "to date presents high-risk psychological disorders, mixing narcissistic problems and positions with a paranoid tone. We note a high criminological and psychopathological dangerousness, Mohammed Mogouchkov showing no movement of internal debate, self-criticism or approach to his internal failings" .

The expert was particularly interested in the family environment but also in the assailant’s past. Mohammed Mougouchkov was born in Russia and arrived in France in 2008. The document that BFMTV was able to consult specifies that his "journey is marked by a complex migratory process".

His childhood was spent in a very special climate, with "a radicalized Islamist ideological positioning carried by the father of the family". "The family history is marked in 2018 by the expulsion of the father from France", explains the expert. This event occurred while Mohammed Mogouchkov was attending school in the establishment where the attack took place.

But according to the psychologist who met the terrorist, other elements would have pushed him to take the act. &amp ;quot; In 2020, the family group would also have been marked by a request for divorce from the mother, a process contributing to the exacerbation of a generalized experience of betrayal among the latter associated with a disintegration of identity and narcissism& quot;, underlines the report.

The behavior would be explained by "the abandoned experiences of Mohammed Mogouckov and his movements of internal collapse then seem to have been reversed vengeful, hostile and retaliatory manner in a desire to attack and destroy an environment embodied by democracy, the French Republic and secularism".
